Global Folk Ensemble focuses each semester on a different traditional music from around the world. This semester the band will be led by Naseem Alatrash and will perform Middle Eastern and Arabic traditional music. The band will explore how micro tonality and Arabic modality (maqam) can synthesize with other styles of improvised music.
