Two letters of recommendation

Transcripts – all transcripts must be in English. Applicants must upload an unofficial copy of transcripts from prior undergraduate and/or graduate work as part of their online application for admissions. Official transcripts are required only after an offer of admission is made and accepted.

English Proficiency Scores – for non-native English speakers only. Unofficial TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test required for the application. Official scores are required only after an offer of admissions is accepted. See the International Students page for score requirements.

Video Recorded Auditions  - Live auditions for Spring and Fall 2021 have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants are required to submit video recorded auditions (performance degrees) or digital portfolios (Composition). If it is safe to host live auditions during February 2021, Longy will contact you in December to confirm dates.

Artist Diploma Pre-Screening – Longy does not require pre-screening for any degree other than the Artist Diploma. Artist Diploma applicants must submit a pre-screening video of a full recital program. All other degree programs do not require pre-screening recordings.

  • September 1 – application opens
  • November 1 – application deadline
  • November 15 – admissions decisions released
  • December 1 – offer reply deadline

Fall 2021 – Early Action Timeline

  • September 1 – application opens
  • December 1 – application deadline (all materials due)
  • January 31 – admissions decisions released
  • February 15 – priority FAFSA filing deadline (only required for U.S. citizens and permanent residents)
  • April 15 – graduate student reply deadline
  • May 1 – undergraduate student reply deadline

Fall 2021 – Regular Action Timeline

  • September 1 – application opens
  • January 5 – standard application deadline
  • February – live auditions (depending on safety)
  • February 15 – priority FAFSA filing deadline (only required for U.S. citizens and permanent residents)
  • March 1 – final English Proficiency scores due (for applicants whose score submitted by January 5 did not qualify them for admission)
  • March 15 – admissions decisions released
  • April 15 – graduate student reply deadline
  • May 1 – undergraduate student reply deadline

After the January 5 application deadline, Longy processes additional applications on a rolling basis. Please contact the   Office of Admissions for more details.
