The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Longy School of Music of Bard College, and the Global Foundation for the Performing Arts (GFPA) announce a partnership to expand access around the world to Longy’s Master of Music in Music Education degree. The three organizations share a bold vision of universal access to music learning.

Launching Fall 2022, this innovative program is rooted in culturally responsive teaching. By connecting lessons to each student’s culture, language, and lives, it prepares teachers to increase engagement and create cross-cultural exchange in classrooms worldwide.

This partnership is UNITAR’s first step into cultural and arts offerings, adding to their large portfolio of courses that serve the world. GFPA is dedicated to fostering global community through performing arts education, mentorship, and collaboration. Longy is reimagining how music educators are prepared to be the next generation of leaders and change-makers. The impact of this partnership will reverberate around the world, in classrooms and beyond.
