Caroline Wolfe | Reborn | Graduating Student Recital

Friday, January 19, 2024   |   8:00 pm 9:00 pm

Free – $20.00
Longy’s performance are free and open to the public, but please register in advance.

All Longy students present full recitals as part of their education and ongoing evolution as artists. They are charged with thinking critically about what stories they tell, whose voices to amplify, and who’s in the room for their event while also considering how to use performance spaces in innovative ways and how to truly engage audiences and create interactive music experiences.

Caroline Wolfe is a student of Dana Varga.

This performance is made possible by arrangement with Boosey & Hawkes, publisher and copyright owner.

biography

Caroline Wolfe (soprano) is a creative individual with a strong pull toward the avant garde and intimate programming. Her mission as an artist is to break down antiquated barriers in classical music. With a broad span of musical interests, Caroline looks both to revitalize old works in new light and to bring new music to the table. Caroline premiered the role of Girl in Rachel J. Peters and Royce Vavrek’s new opera The Wild Beast of the Bungalow (2020) and has also produced, directed, and performed in several one-act operas, including Dominick Argento’s Miss Havisham’s Wedding Night (2019). Recently, Caroline has premiered many new works for soprano and ensemble with Longy’s new music group Ensemble Uncaged.

Caroline has sung with Longy Opera Experience, Oberlin Opera Theater, and Opera Susquehanna. Although not currently working in any ministry, Caroline has previously held positions such as music minister, cantor, and soprano section leader at churches of various denominations and has sung as a soloist guest musician at many more. Caroline is currently attending Longy School of Music to pursue a Masters of Music in Vocal Studies and Historical Performance. She is currently a student of Dr. Dana Varga and Pamela Dellal. Caroline also holds a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory.
