Music Admin & Event Coordinator

SpeechLess is seeking a candidate that is musical, a self-starter that possesses a combination of exceptional administrative skills and a “can-do” attitude for in person event operational work. Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, adaptability and accountability are all essential characteristics required in order to succeed here.

Core Duties
Music Admin (computer work)
Maintenance of spreadsheets
Recruit, assess, & database talent
Manage communication & scheduling of performers
Anticipate and proactively address roster needs before talent deficiencies or logistical problems arise
Oversee performances from start to finish: staffing talent, disseminating sheet music, musical equipment, and manage all communication with performers
Alternate weekends “on-call” to handle a potential gig emergency (online mostly weekends in the summer/fall)

Event Operations (in person work)
Operate auditions, rehearsals, & trainings at studio in Brighton, MA
Attend events (mostly on weekends in the summer/fall) on a regular, per need, basis to assist with event coordination, vendor relations, sound equipment, and oversight
Ordering, receiving and assembly of equipment (speakers, microphones, business cards, sheet music, etc..).
Administration and maintenance of storage unit with sound equipment, sheet music, stage lighting, marketing materials, etc.. Maintain up-to-date inventory records
Assist A/V team with coordinating and executing recording sessions (studio in Brighton, MA)

Experience
Musical expertise (B.A/B.M preferred) & formal training
2+ years experience performing weddings and corporate events
2+ years administrative experience

Required Skills
Ability to accurately assess musical talent and professionalism
High-level organizational and administrative skills
Ability to independently manage work and meet deadlines
Possess an innate sense of responsibility and accountability
Freak-level attention to detail
Excellent computer skills (AirTable, Trello, Google Workspace)

Additional Requirements
Live in (or very near to) Allston/Brighton, MA
Own a car
Flexible schedule, including weekends (events) and occasionally weekday evenings (rehearsals & recording sessions)

Compensation
1099 Contractor
Part or Full-Time (preferred) opportunity (minimum 20 hours per week)
Compensation commensurate with experience and productivity ($18-26 per hr)
