Sound from the Other Side of the Horizon | Junda Tao, Composer

Junda Tao, born in Guangzhou, China in 1996s. He studied piano under the tutelage of Professor Ying Tan when he was four. In 2008, he entered the composition major of the Affiliated Middle School of Xinghai Conservatory of Music. He was a student of Yongcai Huang studying composition while he participated in various performances including his own compositions. In 2014,  Junda received his Bachelor degree, and was promptly admitted to the composition department of the Central Conservatory of Music; where he studied composition under A/Prof. Fuhong Shi, Prof. Xinmin Luo, and Prof. Min Xiang. At the 2015 Beijing Modern Music Festival, he participated in the auditions and master classes of the German Ensemble Modern Chamber Orchestra and performed and exchanged works with famous German performers such as Johannes Schwarz and Nina Janssen. Junda is now receiving his Master of Music after being admitted to the Longy School of Music of Bard College Composition Department in 2019. H is a student of Dr. Aaron Helgeson and Dr. Alexandra du Bois. During his master’s degree, he has worked with many performers and various chamber orchestras such as the Horszowski Trio and Radius Ensemble.
