Javier is a Venezuelan double bassist who is currently doing his UD at Longy School of Music of Bard College. He began his music studies at the age of 5 years old, and discovered his passion for the double bass at the age of 10. Since then, he has established himself as a versatile and dedicated musician. Throughout his musical journey, Javier has displayed exceptional skills in teaching, performing, and leading workshops and sectionals. His commitment to the craft is evident through his active participation in orchestras and invitations to major orchestras in Venezuela. He has also performed with renowned conductors, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Gustavo Dudamel. Javier has has explored a wide variety of musical genres, such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Post-Romantic, Contemporary Music, New Music, Jazz, Popular Traditional Latin American Musicians Latin Jazz. He is currently performing as a core member of the Du Bois Orchestra in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, Cambridge Massachusetts.
