Ensemble Uncaged • THE ENSEMBLE WHO PLAYED EVERYTHING • Andy Kozar and Rachel Elliott, co-directors

Monday • October 24, 2022   |   8:00 pm

Free – $20.00

Join us for the opening concert by Ensemble Uncaged, or “The Ensemble Who Played Everything.” (Is it a piece? A descriptor? A program title? A mystery? A farce?)

You’re invited, along with your imagination, your curiosity, and your open mind as you begin anywhere with your listening journey. We’ll cut a stylistically broad swath through modern and contemporary chamber music—music which requires great nuance, flexibility and attention from the performers, and audience, alike. This program features music by Alex Temple, Wolfgang Fortner, Beth Wiemann, Alvin Singleton, Morton Feldman, Alex Burtzos, and others.

Longy’s premiere new music group, Ensemble Uncaged is dedicated to performing music by established composers as well as emerging and underrepresented voices, expressing multiple perspectives. We honor the familiar, invite the unknown, and challenge the conceptual limits of concert music in the 21st century.
