Growing up in China around lots of artistic influence and falling in love with music at a very young age, Yichen Liu began taking her first piano lessons when she was 3 years old. Joining the world of music, Yichen immediately had an impact on all her teachers as her musical maturity and musicality was shining through her playing. In 2004 began to attend a musical academy in her hometown. Quickly, she became determined to focus on music as her primary education and not follow the traditional path of education that people received in public schools. Before the age of 12, Yichen had already participated in a number of piano competitions and recitals, capturing the attention of audiences and leaving a lasting impression on the Jury. In 2017, Yichen began studying at Tianjin conservatory where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano. She had the pleasure of meeting and having several masterclasses with a world famous Russian pianist. Yichen’s passion for performance had led her to travel across the world to study and perform in the United States. In 2019, she traveled to New York to participate in the New York Morley Classical music festival where she performed in Carnegie Hall.
