Nicoleta Savvidou is a classically trained pianist originally from Paphos, Cyprus. She is currently pursuing her M.M. in Piano Performance at Longy School of Music of Bard College, where she studies with Donald Berman, and received the Christopher Horner Endowed Scholarship. Previously, she earned a summa cum laude B.M. in Piano Performance, with a minor in Creative Entrepreneurship, from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where she received a talent scholarship and studied with Max Levinson. Nicoleta has been in Boston for the past seven years, expanding her musical horizons and points of view through various performances and collaborations with amazing artists from around the world.
Nicoleta continues to strengthen and enrich her artistic voice and technique through masterclasses with renowned artists including Steven Mayer, Daniel Bernard Roumain, Anna Polonsky, and William C. Banfield. Nicoleta is the Bergos Air-Artist in Residence of 2023. She has also performed in many North American and European venues, including S. Rachmaninoff’s Villa Senar and Opernhaus Zürich’s Spiegelsaal as part of Rachmaninoff’s 150th anniversary of birth in 2023. As a pianist, Nicoleta is constantly drawn to the inclusive and connecting power of her instrument. Through its remarkable versatility and rich sound, she strives to bring to life a diverse range of musical works, showcasing the rich history of classical music while highlighting the works of underrepresented composers. Her ultimate goal is to leverage her art as a tool for promoting unity and strengthening communities around the globe. Nicoleta believes that music is the most influential tool to cultivate change and build a better world.
Nicoleta teaches the art of piano playing in both the United States and Europe. She is a piano instructor at various noteworthy institutions including the All Newton Music School, the Daily After School Enrichment Program (DASEP), and Belvoir Terrace Visual and Performing Arts Camp, where she has had the opportunity to meet stellar artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Alan Menken, Melissa Errico, and Ted Sperling. She hopes her efforts continue to inspire young generations to bring out their unique artistic signature.
