While this event is open to the public, you must pre-register in order to gain access in person. No walk-ups will be allowed at Longy for performances.

 

All Longy students present full recitals as part of their education and ongoing evolution as artists. They are charged with thinking critically about what stories they tell, whose voices to amplify, and who’s in the room for their event while also considering how to use performance spaces in innovative ways and how to truly engage audiences and create interactive music experiences.

Tenor Zhao Dong graduated from North University College of Art and the Aaron Copland School of Queens College. He is a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra Choir. He studied singing skills with Dr. Sherry Overholt, Professor Sidney Outlaw, and pianist Huang Xinyi in New York. He also studied with Dr. Kathryn Wright in Boston and recently studied at Longy music school with Dr. Dana Varga. There have been many artistic performances and concerts in which Zhao Dong has been invited to participate. Has been invited to commemorate the seventieth anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Global human peace council “human peace week” series of activities. The opening show, the 4th star of campus culture shows the Chinese non-material cultural heritage of the United Nations headquarters in China Lincoln international arts festival on campus, North American colleges and universities held a large Spring Festival evening in 2017, and the world youth symphony orchestra and chorus, as well as the David Culture Orchestra and Choir of South Korea, performed at Carnegie Hall. The 2018 Spring Festival Gala “warms China and warms the homeland of Chinese people around the world”. Also, the selection activities of the CCTV Star Youth Talent Contest. 2019 “Fly Into Your Heart” Mother’s Day celebration and celebration of the 40th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and the United States Chinese soprano Wang Zifei New York Concert deputy stage director. Assistant director and supervisor of the singing performance at the 2020 New York Starbright International Cultural Festival. Judge for the New York Starbright youth talent competition in 2021. During the year 2021, he performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra Choir in the world premiere of the opera “The Hours.” He also participated in the world premiere of the opera “Messiah.” 2023 NewYork Runway competition stage manager, 2023 New York Starbright Young Talent competition (Voice) stage manager and judge. Also In 2023, he performed “The Damnation of Faust” with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra choir.
