Raven Chacon is a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, performer and installation artist originally from the Navajo Nation. His music moves fluidly between the worlds of sound art and classical chamber music, often intersecting with his work as a visual artist. Cultural influences from his Native American roots, as well as his early love for popular genres such as metal and country, are evident in his conceptual ideas. This concert features a wide array of Chacon’s works, including meditations on traditional hunting songs, creation stories and narrative-driven graphic scores.
