“This past year has been a musical revelation for me. I’ve delved into the fascinating world of new music and piano techniques that I’d never explored before, and I’m hooked! In this program, I’m excited to experiment with some unconventional sounds that will expand your sonic horizons while still satisfying traditional expectations. With a touch of the unexpected, I hope to spark your curiosity and inspire you to seek out new sonic possibilities. My aim is not to reject the traditional canon, but to expand and embrace a new one.”

Tessa Shune is a multi-faceted artist and engineer currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano at Longy School of Music of Bard College, studying with renowned pianist Andrius Žlabys. Tessa has performed as a soloist at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and Segerstrom Hall and was honored to be invited to perform in Riga, Latvia by the Herman Braun Foundation. Throughout her career, Tessa has won several piano competitions, including the Stravinsky Awards International Piano Competition, CAPMT Honors and Concerto Competitions, and the MTAC State Solo Competition. With a passion for new music, Tessa has premiered many contemporary composers’ new works and strives to push traditional musical boundaries.
