Eben A. Fernando Heldreth is a Filipino-American composer, conductor, and music educator based in Portland, Oregon. Eben graduated from Concordia University where he studied music education and composition and earned both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degrees. Additionally, Eben finished his post-master’s coursework receiving a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Wind Conducting (CAGS) from Messiah University, where he studied with Dr. Brad Genevro, Dr. Jack Stamp, and Dr. William Stowman. He has studied composition privately with several notable composers such as Dr. Jim Colonna, Dr. Jack Stamp, and Alex Shapiro.

Eben is also an active composer, adjudicator, guest conductor, and private teacher. As a director, Eben has held positions at Skyview High School (Assistant Band Director & Resident Composer), Yamhill Carlton School District (Director of Instrumental Music), Washington State School for the Blind (Music Director), and Evergreen High School (Jazz Director). Additionally, Eben has over 10 years of experience working as a marching band instructor throughout the Pacific Northwest. Currently, he serves as an adjunct faculty member at Longy School of Music at Bard College, Executive Officer for the Oregon Band Directors Association, Operations Director for Shadow Marching Arts, and Brass Co-Coordinator for Shadow Drum and Bugle Corps.
