Private study with Stan Strickland and Roswell Rudd Kohlhase. Formed Charlie Kohlhase Quintet in 1989; recordings include Eventually (Nada label). Co-led quintet with John Tchicai; member Either/Orchestra since 1987. Active in jazz radio, most recently on WMBR, Cambridge.
