Noah Preminger was named a top artist in three categories of jazz publication DownBeat’s annual Critics Poll.
Receiving accolades in the Tenor Saxophone, Rising Star Flute, and Rising Star Arranger categories, Preminger’s wins place him alongside other acclaimed artists like Charles Lloyd, James Brandon Lewis, Anna Webber, and Lakecia Benjamin.

Longy Jazz and Contemporary Music faculty member and saxophonist Noah Preminger is also a two-time winner of DownBeat’s “Rising Star Best Tenor Saxophonist” award and has recorded nearly two dozen critically acclaimed albums as a band leader.
The New York Times declared of the Brooklyn-based musician: “Mr. Preminger designs a different kind of sound for each note, an individual destiny and story.”
