On September 3, Longy welcomed 184 new graduate students to campus. During Orientation, they made meaningful connections with each other while gearing up for an exciting two-year journey of self-discovery and music-making.

Students began their first day with breakfast bites and coffee, fueling them as they embarked on guided campus tours.

President Karen Zorn set the stage with opening remarks, launching a packed schedule of activities. Students participated in opening circles to delve into their identities and learn more about their peers, established community norms, and engaged in an identity workshop. The workshop included a crime-solving simulation game to uncover assumptions and judgments.

After commemorating the occasion with a group photo, students gathered for a picnic lunch on the Zabriskie House lawn, mingling with new classmates and faculty members.

As the day wrapped up, students unleashed their competitive spirit at a group trivia night while continuing to bond and build friendships with one another.

Welcome, Class of 2026! We are so excited to see how you will grow at Longy!
