Directions

Tours will depart from the lobby of the Zabriskie House, Longy’s main building, which is located near Harvard Square at 27 Garden St., Cambridge, MA, 02138.

Public Transportation (MBTA)

The closest subway/rail station to Longy is the Harvard Square station on the Red Line. Longy is located approximately 10 minutes walking distance from the Harvard T station. Once you have exited the underground T station (near the underground Dunkin’ Donuts), cross the street in the direction of the Harvard Coop Bookstore. As you face the Coop’s front door turn right and follow JFK Street around until it turns into Garden Street (at the Old Burial Ground). Continue up Garden Street, past the Sheraton Commander. Longy’s main building (Zabriskie House) is located at 27 Garden Street.

The following bus lines stop directly in front of Longy: 72, 72/75, 75, 74 and 76.  All of these bus lines originate at the Harvard Square T Station.

Car: From West of Boston

  • Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East to exit 18 (Cambridge/Allston).
  • Bear right after the toll at the end of the exit ramp.
  • At the third set of lights (over the bridge) turn left onto Memorial Drive.
  • After the third set of lights on Memorial Drive, bear right onto Hawthorne Street (first turn possible).
  • At the light, turn right onto Mt Auburn Street and turn left onto Ash Street (first left turn possible).
  • At the stop sign, bear slight right onto Mason Street.
  • At the light, turn left onto Garden Street. Longy is 2 blocks ahead on the right.

Car: From North of Boston

  • Take I-93 south to exit 26 (Storrow Drive/North Station).
  • Keep left at end of the elevated ramp; follow under pass to Storrow Drive.
  • Continue on Storrow Drive approximately 4 miles to the Harvard Square exit.
  • Turn right onto the bridge at the end of the exit ramp.
  • Turn left at first light onto Memorial Drive.
  • Bear right onto Hawthorne Street (first turn possible).
  • At the light, turn right onto Mt Auburn Street and turn left onto Ash Street (first left turn possible).
  • At the stop sign, bear slight right onto Mason Street.
  • At the light, turn left onto Garden Street. Longy is 2 blocks ahead on the right.

Car: From South of Boston

  • Take I-95 north to exit 25 (I-90/Massachusetts Turnpike).
  • Follow directions from west of Boston.

Airport

The nearest airport to Longy is Boston’s Logan International Airport. The airport is approximately a 25-minute drive from the school, and accessible via public transport.

Parking

There is plenty of on-street parking directly surrounding the Longy buildings for those who have a Cambridge resident sticker.  Parking meters (quarters only, or pay online) run along Massachusetts Avenue and Garden Street.  Longy is a 10 minute walk from the Harvard Square MBTA station.  Paid parking is available at the nearby Sheraton Commander Hotel.
