MUSIC COGNITION LAB

ABOUT THE LAB

Our research aims to understand how music, cognition, and the brain interact to influence human learning and information processing. We ask whether music experience generates cross-domain neural plasticity and leads to better language outcomes, memory, attention, and executive function. Findings will shed light on one fundamental question of cognitive science: How (music) experience shapes the brain and mind.

As music is universal, accessible, safe, and low-cost, our ultimate goal is to impact clinical practices and education policy by using music as a preventative and interventional tool to benefit a variety of populations.
