Dr. Jie Ren is a scientist studying language and music development in young infants and children, she received her Ph.D. from Brown University and was the first student in the history of Brown University to receive the Open Graduate Education Award in statistics.
As a professional statistician, she also specializes in machine-learning and advanced statistical techniques for spatial and longitudinal analyses.
Dr. Ren is also a classical singer specializing in opera and oratorio performances. She is also an advocate of ethnomusicological diversity with a special focus to protect folk music along the Silk Road.
