Thank you—to all who came out to support our 2022 Virtual Celebration!

We honored Marin Alsop as the 2022 Leonard Bernstein Lifetime Achievement Award for the Elevation of Music in Society and featured musical performances by students, alumni, faculty, Longy’s Sistema Side-by-Side Orchestra, and the premiere of The Longy Difference video series.

The event is over, but the Longy Difference continues!
The Gala Campaign goes until April 30th – please give today.

This year, Longy honored groundbreaking conductor, educator, and visionary Marin Alsop. The virtual gala featured a special conversation between Maestro Alsop and Jamie Bernstein, Leonard Bernstein’s daughter and friend of Longy.

Sharing Longy’s commitment to music as social change, master conductor Marin Alsop champions the universal importance of music through her innovative philosophies on programming and audience engagement. Marin is Music Director Laureate of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and is the founder of OrchKids, the cornerstone of the Orchestra’s city-wide community engagement efforts.

The Longy Difference is built on leading by example, showing our students what the world of classical music can be and giving them the tools to build it.

Hear firsthand stories from students and alumni that show how Longy empowered them to realize their potential and make a difference in the world.

Your generosity allows Longy to remove barriers that prevent musicians from accessing the training and development to achieve their vision.
