The Commonwealth Music School is now seeking applicants to join our teaching staff for the new year. Commonwealth Music School is a traveling music school offering private music lessons in the student’s own home. We primarily serve the towns of Hingham, Norwell and Cohasset, MA, teaching guitar and piano. Our students range in age from seven years old and up. We teach beginning to advanced music lessons, with an emphasis on teaching to the individual student’s unique interests and learning styles.
We are currently seeking part-time piano and guitar instructors to join our staff. Candidates with the ability to teach both are highly preferred. Lessons are held weekly on Mondays through Thursdays between 2:30 PM — 8:30 PM. Our teachers generally have the same shifts every week, and work between two to four days a week. Teachers are welcome to employ their own teaching techniques and methods, as well as work out of their own preferred method books as long as it coincides with our overall philosophy.

Qualifications:
All applicants should have:
-Reliable transportation (we make house calls exclusively)
-Availability on weekdays from 2:30 PM — 8:30 PM
-Have a passion for music and teaching
-Be extremely professional and patient

Music degrees are strongly preferred. No teaching experience required, but preferred. Great job for recent graduates and gigging musicians!

Our staff is comprised of musicians who are active members of the local music community. Each teacher has studied music at the college level, and has a great amount of experience playing music at the professional level.
