The 2022-2023 season, the inaugural season of new Artistic Director Dr. Michael Driscoll, begins with a program of familiar pieces by Mozart plus a major work by composer, pianist, and singer Marianna Martines, a contemporary of Mozart and Haydn. In March, we celebrate bluegrass and love with a unique and uplifting concert featuring Carol Barnett’s The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass. We will be joined by the nationally renowned bluegrass band, Monroe Crossing. This program also features Commonwealth Composer Kevin Siegfried’s arrangements of Shaker songs. For our final concert in May, we celebrate harmony with John Rutter’s Requiem and selections from Florence Price’s Communion Service in F and her setting of Psalm 117, Praise the Lord. Ms. Price was the first African-American woman to be recognized as a symphonic composer.

Additional details about the chorus and the season program can be found on Commonwealth Chorale’s website.
