Biography & Teaching Philosophy

Gina Marie Falk is a singer and French teacher living in the Boston area. Gina Marie recently finished her Master’s candidacy in French Linguistics and Pedagogy at the Middlebury College School of French, where she developed academic interests in immersive education and phonetic awareness. An active performer, Gina Marie brings a unique understanding of the challenges faced by conservatory students as they navigate their merging professional and academic lives. She is sensitive not only to this but to the crucial role language plays in all aspects of the field of classical music. Gina Marie uses real-life experiences, empathy, a sociopragmatic approach, and a genuine love for French language and music to her students, encouraging them to have a love for language learning, a keen ear, and excitement for their futures as musicians.

When not teaching French language and diction at the Longy School of Music and New England Conservatory, Gina Marie is a “soaring soprano soloist” (Boston Classical Review) tending to an active performance career. Her credits include work with ensembles, artists, and festivals such as the Pandora Consort, Emmanuel Music, Nightingale Vocal Ensemble, the Portland Bach Experience, Clémentine Dubost, Mathis Andersen, DREAMGLOW, and Saint Boneface. Gina Marie’s specialization in early and contemporary chamber music allow her to explore the versatility of the human voice.

In addition to an MA in French Linguistics and Pedagogy from the Middlebury College School of French, Gina Marie holds an MM in Vocal Performance from the Longy School of Music and a BM in Vocal Performance from East Carolina University.
