Longy’s Opera Experience Live! presents The Mad Ones by Kait Kerrigan and Bree Lowdermilk
In this off-Broadway show, we meet 18-year-old Samantha Brown who is caught between a yearning for the unknown and feeling bound by expectation. She relives her just completed senior year though flashbacks and imaginations that help her explain the pain of losing her best friend. Sam’s well-intentioned helicopter mother Bev, her high school sweetheart of a boyfriend Adam, and her spontaneous and rule breaking best friend Kelly help push Sam to break rules and do the unexpected. Sam is faced with the decision: Will she follow someone else’s dreams for her, or will she summon the courage to drive away from her friends and family into a future she can’t imagine?
