Parallel Worlds: Jazz and Contemporary Music Departmental Recital

An evening of music presented by the Jazz and Contemporary Music Department.

The Immersions Ensemble spent this semester diving into the music of Horace Silver and Benny Golson. Both artists had long lasting and successful careers as band leaders and composers that continue to inspire generations of musicians and composers today.

Art Ensemble, focusing on the music of John Tchicai, has been exploring Tchicai’s innovative style of composition and improvisation.
