Featuring works by Boehm, J.S. Bach, and Daugherty, the audience will embark on a musical exploration of the warmth and darkness of tone colors, harmonies, and melodies of the flute literature. The journey will end at Daugherty’s groundbreaking new “Trail of Tears” flute concerto, a musical memorial of the winter of 1830, arranged by for flute, piano, and two percussionists–a United States premiere of this instrumentation.
