2.16.19 Faculty Artist Recital: Book of Water/Book of Fire Eric Hofbauer and Tony Leva

JCM faculty Eric Hofbauer has composed two new extended pieces, The Book of Water and The Book of Fire. This concert will feature a sneak peek viewing of his “video album” documentary The Book of Water, a suite for jazz sextet, to be released in 2019. Following that, is the performance debut of the Book of Fire, a 5-part suite for guitar, bass, turntables and samples inspired by the writings and speeches of James Baldwin.
