SECOND STAGE: Yanchen Yuan, guitar | Intimation, Becoming | Graduating Student Project

From unformed thought to sounding form, this concert explores improvisation as a process of becoming. Drawing from blues, composition, and free jazz, it moves between structure and freedom, memory and invention.
The audience is not only listening, but participating — becoming part of the music creation as it unfolds in real time.

Yanchen is a guitarist, composer, producer, and music educator from China. His music express different art aspect through contemporary jazz and pop music formant. He used to study architecture and start playing in a rock band during his first college. Later he became a professional musician and focus on contemporary jazz and pop music. He graduated from Berklee college of music major in Jazz composition and performance, and got master degree from Longy school of music. He has recorded, produced many music for Chinese mainstream TV shows, for example CCTV. He also teach many students from music school like Berklee and MI.

Yanchen Yuan is a student of Eric Hofbauer.
