SECOND STAGE: Chenxue Shi, piano | A Romantic Exploration | Graduating Student Project

Wednesday, April 22, 2026   |   7:00 pm 8:30 pm

Chenxue Shi is a student of Wayman Chin.

Franz Schubert’s 1825 sonata moves between quiet tension and lyrical calm.
A simple Andante theme unfolds into contrasting variations of light and shadow.
The work ends not heroically, but with Schubert’s gentle, introspective voice.

Robert Schumann lets his two alter egos speak: fiery Florestan and dreamy Eusebius.
Each short piece feels like a moment from a personal diary.
The ending fades into a soft, inward whisper.
