“…and then some” | Chamber Music with a Point of View

Join us for an evening of chamber music with a purpose presented by Longy students and the Neave Trio in collaboration with guest artist, Chelsea Polk, from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Experience student-curated presentations exploring works by Bach, Chesky, Bizet, Beach, Bernstein, and Clarke paired with multimedia art. You’ll get a unique insight into the performer’s point of view.
Chelsea Polk is a multimedia artist and musician from Cleveland, Ohio. She began her career in photography and video and has since focused on sound design, writing, and cello performance. She received a BFA from The Cleveland Institute of Art and an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art & Design. Now based in Boston, Polk provides media and technology support at MIT’s Program in Art, Culture, and Technology and handles operations at a tech-enabled photography platform, Pretty Instant. In addition, she is the Fall 2019 artist-in-residence at Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA. Her most recent project, 44,320, a multi-platform podcast, was shown at Boston Sculptors Gallery in Boston, MA; The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA; and was presented as a part of The Center for New Media Culture’s 2019 Festival, Un/Green in Riga, Latvia. In her free time, Polk assists in sound production for short films and plays cello in the New England Philharmonic.
