The Multifaceted Career: Ann Gregg

Longy School of Music of Bard College is proud to present The Multifaceted Career Speaker Series featuring conversations with musicians who defy categorization. As an essential component of Longy’s career coaching program, this series fosters an exploration of how we (re)define individual success in our diverse and growing field.

Ann Gregg has experience as an arts and social impact administrator, educator, and performing artist. Currently, Ann is working with Caramoor Center for Music and Art on re-imagining their education and public programs. She is also leading a social networking class as a part of NeON Works with the NYC Department of Probation, and is part of a team designing the new $500,000 Lewis Prize for Music. As Director of Social Impact Programs for Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute for 11 years, Ann oversaw programs built with the talents and ideas of an ecosystem of young people, nonprofit and government agency partners, artists, and community stakeholders including programs like the Lullaby Project, Create Justice, Musical Connections, and the award-winning NeON Arts. She was also the Director of Education with the NPR and PBS phenomenon From the Top. Ann has taught in public schools in Los Angeles, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Philadelphia, and Madison, Wisconsin. As violist of the San Francisco based Cypress String Quartet for 3 years, she toured internationally. Ann holds an undergraduate degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin and a masters in viola performance from Indiana University.
