What better time to reflect than at a milestone? As NewGal reaches 25 years, let’s take a moment to look back on where we came from, and who we have become. Musicians include marimbist/composer Steph Davis, bassist Max Ridley, violinist/composer Daniel Bernard Roumain, percussionist Aaron Trant, and pianist Sarah Bob. Steve Aldeus’s collage, assemblage, and painting converge to articulate his reflections on blackness; composer Lei Liang accumulates sonar sounds to reflect off of the piano like sun on water; and pianist Sarah Bob’s tribute to Lee Hyla – composer, friend, and advisor – is an opportunity to reflect back upon NewGal’s beginnings. Join us as we look to our future, while remembering and celebrating our past.
