Longy’s performance are free and open to the public, but please register in advance.

Unplayed/Unheard features a performance of new music by New England Jazz Collaborative, with students from Longy’s Jazz and Contemporary Music department opening the concert. Members of the New England Jazz Collaborative, a jazz orchestra and composer collective, will work with Longy Jazz and Contemporary Music students throughout the semester—the only partnership of its kind!

The New England Jazz Collaborative (NEJC) is a Cambridge-based composers’ collective and orchestra project. Founded in 2021, it has quickly established itself as a major local cultural force, featuring many of the top composers and musicians in the region. The New England Jazz Collaborative is dedicated to presenting new music by a diverse group of living composers, and to expanding the audience for jazz and related genres.
