Drink the Wild Air: A 25th Anniversary Celebration

Thursday • October 3, 2019   |   7:30 pm

Wayman Chin celebrates 25 years on the Longy faculty—years of joy and deep inspiration that he likens to Emerson’s call to “live in the sunshine, swim the sea, and drink the wild air’s salubrity.” The program includes Mozart’s Sonata for Piano and Violin in C Major, K. 296 (the first piece Chin performed as a Longy faculty member); a new work for solo piano by faculty composer Paul Brust; and Schumann’s Piano Quintet, Op. 44. On this evening, Dean Chin will be joined by faculty colleagues: violinists Jesse Mills and Solomiya Ivakhiv, violist Sean Wang, and cellist Ole Akahoshi.
