Kody is a native of Fort Smith, Arkansas where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He will soon graduate with a Master’s in Vocal Studies degree from the Longy School of Music. He made his operatic stage debut at the Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point summer program, where he performed the roles of Frank in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus and Don Basilio in Mozart’s ll barbiere di Siviglia. He made his professional operatic debut on the Opera in the Rock stage in Little Rock, Arkansas as The Bonze in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. He also performed the role of Melliso in the Longy School of Music’s production of Handel’s Alcina. In 2018, he received an encouragement award in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Since moving to Boston in the Fall of 2020, he has sung in the choir at Christ Church in the City of Boston (Old North Church).
