This program explores the balance of darkness and light – aurally, visually, and in life. Shining Forth takes us to a place where we can sit with this duality, reflect on how the darkness propels us forward, and acknowledge that it is necessary to have both in life. Selections from Romantic-era piano etudes, twentieth century solo trumpet works, and free improvisations with friends encourage a full view on what darkness and light means to each of us.
