Welcome to the internationally-recognized Longy Dalcroze Summer Intensive!

Each year, students from around the world receive an immersive Dalcroze education through our program, and return home to become leaders in the field of Dalcroze Eurhythmics.

Together we’ll explore how the whole body is musical; you’ll grow in countless ways as a performer, composer, and/or teacher. The rich variety of activities all center on music, movement, improvisation, and active listening. Bring an inquisitive mind and an openness to exploration.

We look forward to sharing this dynamic and embodied approach to musicianship and music-making with you!

Warm regards,
– Eiko Ishizuka, Director

The Longy Dalcroze Summer Intensive is designed for all musicians!
We welcome instructors, instrumentalists, singers, conductors, composers, music students and music therapists, as well as actors and dancers.

Equally applicable to the classroom, private studio, beginner or advanced performers, this holistic approach to musical understanding and creativity, complements traditional avenues of study and practice. Students will discover creative applications in their own work.

Based on the artistic and pedagogical principles of Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, this training course expressively teaches music’s fundamental concepts, heightens the body’s natural response to music, while emphasizing imagination and redefining the coordination between ear, mind and body.
