Health & Wellness

Your mental and physical well being is important to us. Please use the tabs below to address health concerns during your time at Longy. Please contact the Admission & Student Services Office regarding any concerns not addressed on this website.

Student Health Insurance

Longy offers student accident and sickness health insurance coverage through Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk, a Massachusetts-based specialist in student health insurance. Students enrolled or planning to enroll at three-quarter or full time are automatically enrolled in the school's plan and are billed for this coverage with their tuition statement each year. Qualifying part-time students enrolled at half time or less may elect to enroll in the school's health insurance program for a slightly higher cost. Contact Admissions at admissions(at)longy.edu for information regarding health insurance costs for part-time students or for single semester (fall-only or spring-only) costs.

Longy School of Music of Bard College is mandated by Massachusetts law to request that all students present evidence that they are immunized against Hepatitis B, Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus (Tdap), and Varicella.

Note: Some international students may not be able to obtain their Tdap vaccination in their home country. These students may obtain their Tdap vaccination here in the United States after arrival. Vaccination doses must be started before the end of the Drop/Add period.

In addition, students who were born and/or lived in countries with a high rate of tuberculosis need a Mantoux Tuberculin test. More information, including the list of countries, can be found on our History of Immunization Form
