Artist Diploma Applicants
Artist Diploma applicants must submit:
- Application for admission, including all required supplementary materials
- Pre-screening video recording (uploaded in the online application)
- An essay that includes the candidate’s statement as an artist and professional goals, and how Longy’s Artist Diploma will help them achieve these.
Pre-screening recordings must be submitted by January 5. Applicants must present a full recital program, including accompaniment when applicable. Recordings must be uploaded in the online application.
Based on the results of the pre-screening, the Director of Admissions will invite finalists to perform on the Artist Diploma live audition date. The Artist Diploma auditions will be evaluated by a panel comprised of the President, Dean of the Conservatory, Director of Admissions, and faculty members or outside guests.
Applicants who advance to the Artist Diploma finals must perform in person with an accompanist. Artist Diploma applicants must make arrangements for their own accompanist as Longy does not provide them. Artist Diploma candidates will only be admitted for fall semester matriculation.
All applicants accepted into the Artist Diploma program will receive a full-tuition scholarship.
Living expenses and housing are the student's responsibility.
Applicants who are not selected for the Artist Diploma will be considered for the Graduate Performance Diploma at the discretion of the Director of Admissions.
